Bluebird 2008

Hi Derek and Mary

A slightly belated thanks very much for the hire of your caravan at Easter. We had a great week, with some pretty decent weather on the whole. The caravan is probably the best equipped one I have ever been in – everything we seemed to need was to hand! I think we’d got the best position on the site and handy parking too!! The site is great – especially for walks and we did plenty of them! Both Bucks Mill and Clovelly were lovely – enjoyed the donkeys, but a steep climb back up the hill – we got the bus home that day – Izzie wasn’t impressed!!

We even managed a paddle on the beach at Instow on the one day – really beautiful and seems untouched by mass tourism. I wanted to go and see the gnomes, but the girls wouldn’t let me!! Do you know where I mean? We nearly went on that Climbing/High Wire thing by the Big Sheep, but wimped out when we got close to it and saw it’s actual size!!

Best wishes to you both.
Hilary, Tim, Katt, Liz and Izzie!!

Hi Derek and Mary.

I have just e-mailed to thank you for the use of your holiday caravan it met all our expectations it was
lovely and clean just like home from home. We enjoyed our weeks holiday in North Devon, managed to visit all  the places we had been to before we got married 35 years ago. Buster our dog loved  the walks through the woods to Bucks Mills. We took in Clovelly, Hartland quay, Bude, Appledore, Bideford Westwood-ho, And Torrington they brought back many happy memories. Diane even managed to do some retail therapy at Atlantic Village designer shops one very wet morning. Many thanks we would certainly recommend your caravans to our friends.
Best Wishes
Geoff, Diane and Buster.

Just to let you know that we had a lovely time at Bideford Bay.
Your caravan was ideal, just far enough away from the club, which we made good use of and all the facilities on the camp. We enjoyed lots of walking- I don't think we
have seen so many hills before! and the weather was great. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and family and look forward to booking more holidays with you.

Trudi & Steve.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we had a fantastic holiday in your caravan, which was very clean and comfortable. The location was not only beautiful but central for all locations we visited within Devon and Cornwall and we have come back with some breathtaking views on camera.

Thanks again.
Ian and Jean Keir.

Hi

Devon is a lovely part of the country and this was the second time we have been there, the last time being without children.
The caravan had all the comforts of home. I took along my laptop and the kids watched DVD's on it to amuse them while we were cooking, etc.
Clovelly is a lovely little village which we did visit but it is really only a half day trip but we finished it off by going onto the beech at Combe Martin and the kids had great fun looking for shells.
Woolacombe had a lovely beach and I think that the kids could have stayed there for the whole week.
We tend to travel around when we are on holiday and visit lots of places, Exmoor Zoo was one of them, it is not very big but very enjoyable, we visited Bude and Ilfracombe to look around the shops. Dartington Crystal  was very good as we had hand prints of the children done there at a very reasonable price you could also paint glasses and lots of other bits.
There was lots of other thing to do there but with Sally being only 2 yrs she was a little too young.
I hope this information is helpful and we intend to keep your card handy and maybe hire the caravan again in the future.

Michelle Pearson.

Hi

Just had to write to let you know how very much we enjoyed our stay in your caravan at Bideford Bay 3-10th June.  If we hadn't made other arrangements for the following week we'd have been ringing to see if by any chance it was available for us to stay on!
Everything was so efficiently dealt with from start to finish, the caravan park was so pretty, and you even arranged brilliant weather for us!

Thanks again for a really super holiday.

Sue and Terry Blackburn.

Dear Derek & Mary,

I just wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity of taking a much
needed rest in Devon.
It was a lovely break for me away from home, a very good time of the year to go to Devon as the weather was very pleasantly sunny warm and no rain and
proved to be so much warmer than in the north.
I am new to caravan holidays and would say that it really is a lovely caravan that is equipped with lots of homely things; and I must admit to being pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort, equipment and extras that were available, such as the books (I left one behind for the library) and the extensive choice of music CDs. You have some really nice easy listening music there. I loved the TV I did not need my glasses to watch it or read the text!
Now I know what to expect having visited that caravan and the area I hope to be able to book again, probably later in the season after the main summer break. I may even be inclined to more exploring on foot next time (must get some walking boots). I did get to see some of the countryside but mostly from the car and would like to get around more next time.
Once again thanks for providing a super ‘home’ for my week away.

Best wishes

Lorraine

Hi Derek and Mary, we are Jean and Bernie, but yes, everything was fine thanks. We used the double bedroom and found it very comfy and everything was lovely and clean. We loved the area and found the week went too quick so we may come back again another week. Thanks a lot for a well equipped and cosy holiday home.

We must have chosen the wettest week of the year or decade!
Having driven down in glorious sunshine, as it had been for the previous 4 weeks,
we arrived at Bideford Bay. The site and the caravan looked lovely in the May sunshine,
with views across the bay, Your caravan was really comfy and cosy, even with the rain lashing
outside.  Despite the weather there was lots to do very near to the site, all within 10 minutes drive.
The Big Sheep was lots of fun for a full day (and mostly under cover!) and great for all ages,
we especially liked the lamb feeding and the beer tasting!
Clovelly was so picturesque and the silversmiths, near the visitor centre is well worth a look,
as they have some unusual pieces, at reasonable prices.
We had a trip out to the Eden project which took about an hour and half, where we pretended
we were in sunnier climates for the day, and returned via the chip shop at Woolsery,
which we'd recommend.
We had a few meals out and would recommend the Thatched Inn, which is signposted,
off the second roundabout into Bideford which served a tasty selection of large portions
at reasonable prices.
This was our first time in North Devon, but it certainly won't be our last.
There's much to see and do in all weathers around Bideford Bay.
We hope to return, in the not to distant future, to sample more of the lovely
walks around the caravan park.

Regards

Chris. Andy and Family.

Hi there,

It has been very rude of me not to have got back to you sooner, I can only apologise as things have been hectic.

We had a very lovely holiday and your caravan was really nice and comfortable. The only trouble we had was that the TV kept slipping away from the channel a bit. Will probably contact you again about a future holiday but not whilst we still have my mother with us. Our dogs were no trouble at all!!!

Hi,

just a note, albeit a bit late, to say we had a great time at Bideford bay and the park exceeded our expectations. It was far better than the Haven park we went to in Weymouth last year.

Kind Regards

Hi, Its Rachel from Poole we hired the caravan on 15th July 2006. Just to let you know the caravan was lovely and the site was just right for us. Will keep your card. Thanks.

2006 Bluebird

Hi Derek and Mary,

Just a line to say what a great holiday we had at Bideford Bay.  The caravan was extremely comfortable; we really appreciated the picnic bench on the patio, it was lovely to chill out and have our meals alfresco also had a few bbqs.  Other people were quite envious of the bbq area.  The park was great too, small enough to be friendly but with plenty to do for all ages.  Sian appreciated the walks in Buck Mills woods, and we were able to go on all the local beaches.  The food at the Farmer’s Arms at Woolsery was very tasty and a good selection (just a warning for those over 5’10” watch your head on the ceiling in the bar!). Enclosed a couple of photos if you would like them in your gallery.  Will hopefully be booking again in the future.

Best wishes

Lyn, Bob, Steven Charlton, Rachel and Peter Donnison and not forgetting Sian

Dear Derek & Mary,

We have just arrived back home from a weeks holiday in your caravan at Bideford bay,
16 The Glade, Bucks Cross. I am just writing to confirm that the caravan was left in a clean condition as it was found. While I am writing I would just like to commend you on the condition of the van and its contents.
The caravan is obviously one of the older models on site but it is still very well presented and has been well cared for.
With  the small details that made us feel at home on our arrival, this in my
opinion is the way privately owned caravans stand out head and shoulders above site vans.

Best Regards.

Kenneth Giles.
